Based in Scotland UK, International designer Mark Stoddart exemplifies kindness through his global advocacy for dyslexia and neurodiversity, using his own experiences to drive meaningful change.
Diagnosed as neurodiverse with dyslexia at age 13, Mark faced bullying and misunderstanding at school and in the world of work, which inspired his lifelong mission to support other neurodiverse individuals.
Best known for his bronze and silver sculptures and functional designer furniture, Mark’s impact extends far beyond the art world.
He has played a key role in establishing two pioneering schools for underprivileged neurodiverse children—one in Bali, Indonesia, and another in Kenya, Eastern Africa.
The Bali school, which he funded & advised, is eco-friendly and carbon-neutral, combining tailored education with environmental awareness.
In Kenya, his financial support & Knowledge helped launch the country’s & Eastern Africa's first dyslexic neurodiverse school, gaining recognition from the national Education Ministry.
Mark also serves as an ambassador for organisations such as Dyslexia Scotland and the Bali Dyslexia Foundation and he is a board member for a host of other global disability and neurodiverse charities.
He is also helping a Dementia Charity + homeless people.
His book Making a Mark! Discovering the Power of Neurodiversity on a Learning Safari is currently celebrating its second anniversary and shares his personal journey, encouraging young readers to embrace their strengths.
